Artist Statement

Every photograph begins with a visual idea. Sometimes it appears unexpectedly—a fleeting convergence of subject, place, and atmosphere. More often, it is carefully constructed, bringing together subject, place, light, and composition until every element belongs.

I have never been interested in simply recording what is in front of the camera. I am drawn to creating images where reality and imagination quietly coexist, where subject and environment come together to suggest a narrative rather than explain one. The photograph is less about telling a story than creating an atmosphere that invites the viewer to imagine one.

Whether discovered or created, my goal is always the same: to make photographs that reward close observation. I am fascinated by those moments when all the elements belong together—when place, light, and the human presence create something that feels both familiar and timeless.

My work is guided by the belief that a photograph can be more than a record of a moment. When subject, setting, and atmosphere exist in harmony, the image takes on a life of its own, allowing each viewer to bring their own memories, emotions, and interpretations to the experience.
